Organization Madness

Shiki glanced at him. "What do you want to know?"

"Your whole story."

Shiki sighed. "Well, I live down in Makai with my family, as I'm sure you know?"

"Yeah, I know. But do you have other siblings?"

"No. Just my older brother and I." she answered.

"So anyway, do you remember the story of how I came to join/start the Organization?"

"Maybe. Remind me."

Shiki paused for a second, before launching into the story.

"Well, I'd been in this world for little more than a year when he came to me. The Leader. He too was a non-human, and he dreamed of somewhere where we could be together without prejudice or having to conceal ourselves.

He convinced me to join his cause and, eventually, we had everything in place. We'd figured out where to live, what we would do to pass the time, and how to gather more members. It was all a matter of just putting our plans into place.

After me, he never made another attempt at recruiting anyone, preferring to stay at home, so this is when I came in. I was the one to search the globe for others like us. While some didn't join, they passed the knowledge through their friends or family, resulting in the Organization being well know.

I've been here ever since, welcoming others and giving out missions." she chose to left out the fact that she was gone quite frequently.

Shiki finished, closing her eyes and relishing in the cold hitting her skin.

"I remember now. Do you remember when you recruited me?"

Shiki tilted her head sheepishly. "Er...no." she smiled.

"I wouldn't forget it, the first time I saw you."

Shiki's eyes were laughing. "...Tell me about it?" to tell the truth, she felt rather guilty for forgetting.

"I wandered in a nearby forest as a wolf. Then I saw you. You knew I wasn't a wolf when you looked at me."

Shiki thought hard. "Oh...right! I remember that." it all came back to her in a rush.

"Yeah? What happened next?"

Shiki nodded. "Not really much else to say. I'm still in the Organization."

Daniel laughed a bit. "No, in my story."

Shiki rolled her eyes. "It's your story. Shouldn't you be telling me?"

"I want to know if you really remember it."

"Well," Shiki spoke, brow furrowed. "I believe I called you out on it, right?"

"You realized I was like you. I transformed back. We began to speak. Then you recruited me."

"I'll never forget her, standing there in the forest..."

Shiki smiled warmly at Daniel. "And you've been with us ever since." she finished.

Daniel smiled too. "Yeah, that's it. Hehe."

Shiki span around and started walking backwards. "I love the quiet." she sighed.

"The silence, the cold...it's so nice."

Shiki eyed him with surprise. "I pictured you as more of a fire person."
